Inside the colonial building, the museum’s collection comprises about 5,000 pieces, artifacts with ceremonial or utilitarian purposes created in ceramic, stone, shell, metal, textile, and wood. The collection holds objects of great archeological and aesthetic value from diverse cultures who lived in Ecuador between 7000 BC and around 1530 AD.
